Our Mission
The aim of the SciRev.org website (henceforth "Website") is to help improve scientific knowledge production by giving researchers the possibility to share their experience with the scientific review process with their peers and to select an efficient journal for submitting their work. Editors of journals get the opportunity to compare the performance of their journal with that of other journals in their field and to provide information about their journal to the research community. To strengthen communication within the global scientific community we also offer researchers and editors of scientific journals to place free scientific ads.
Terms and Conditions
The terms "we", "us", "our" and "SciRev" in this document and elsewhere on the Website refer to the Stichting SciRev, a nonprofit organization (charity) which owns and operates the Website. By using the Website in any manner, you declare to agree with and be bound by these Terms and Conditions. You also declare that any information you submit to the Website by registering an account, filling in a questionnaire, or in other ways is accurate and truthful.
To fulfill its aim, SciRev relies on information submitted by researchers, editors and other users to the Website. SciRev has no obligation to monitor the content provided by these users. However, SciRev reserves the right to remove, edit or modify any content in its sole discretion, and to remove or block any user account from the Website without prior notice. In case of doubt about the trustworthiness of submitted content, in case of content that is potentially offensive, harmful, inaccurate, deceptive or otherwise inappropriate we grant ourselves the right to refuse the use of this content without further notification or explanation. In exceptional cases, we may seek email contact with users to get additional information.
The SciRev ratings presented at the Website are completely based on the information provided by registered researchers, who share their review experience by completing our questionnaire. The ratings are derived by performing simple arithmetic operations, like taking averages, on this information. The motivations given by the registered researchers for their overall rating of the review process are the sole responsibility of those researchers. The journal information presented at the Website is provided by registered representatives of the journals and in no way altered by the SciRev team. The correctness of this information is completely the responsibility of the registered representative of the journal.
By filling in a questionnaire or submitting information about a journal to the Website, you grant SciRev the irrevocable right to use this information to fullfil our mission, to improve our services, to make this information available in raw or adjusted form through the Website or through other media, and to use this information for scientific research. Any personal information submitted to the Website during the registration process will be treated strictly confidential according to our Privacy Policy. You may also want to read the specific terms and conditions for placing free scientific ads and the specific terms and conditions for for registering as a potential paid peer reviewer at the Website.
We may amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time. If we do this, we will notify you by posting the new Terms and Conditions on the Website. You are bound by any changes in the Terms and Conditions when you use the Website after such changes have been posted.
Copyright
The design, structure, and content of the Website, the infrastructure used to provide the content, as well as the underlying concept on which the Website is based, are the property of SciRev and can therefore not be copied, reproduced, used, published or sold without prior written approval of SciRev.
By visiting the Website you acknowledge that its content is provided by SciRev and/or submitted to SciRev by authors, representatives of journals and other third parties to be shared on the Website. By visiting the Website you agree with the copyrights, trademarks, service marks, patents, trade secrets or other proprietary rights and laws by which this content is protected.
