By registering as a potential paid referee at the SciRev.org website, registrant declares to be interested in participating as referee in the paid peer review system that is currently being developed by SciRev.
Registering as paid referee is possible for researchers who have published at least one paper in a peer reviewed journal. Registering as a paid referee does not involve any obligations from the registrant towards SciRev, nor vice versa from SciRev towards the registrant.
Registering as paid referee with SciRev does not provide any guarantee that the registrant will actually be invited to review scientific papers for SciRev. Being selected for this depends on many factors, including registrant’s publication and review experience, the availability of other reviewers with better fitting expertise and experience, the number of review requests obtained by SciRev, and the demand for specific expertise from the side of the scientific journals.
Given that the successful implementation of a paid peer review system depends on factors over which SciRev has no control, such as the number of referees who register and the outcomes of negotiations with editors and publishers, SciRev reserves the right not to continue with the development of the paid peer review system if in the view of SciRev the conditions for establishing a successful system are not met.
By registering as a paid referee you give SciRev the right to inform you by email about the paid peer review system and other SciRev activities.
