Jeroen Smits is president of SciRev and professor of economic and human development at the department of Economics of Radboud University. He studied sociology and psychology at RU and obtained a PhD in sociology of this university in 1996. Since then he has worked at Utrecht University, University of Amsterdam and the Dutch National Institute of Public Health and the Environment. His major research interests are (all forms of) inequality, development, social cohesion, database building and the development of knowledge instruments. Smits has published over 100 research papers in a broad range of scientific fields, including demographics, economics, sociology, public health, medicine and human biology.
