Aims and Scope

Political parties are intrinsic to every democratic political system, and with the dramatic changes that regularly sweep the political landscape, the study of their function and form is one of the most dynamic areas within contemporary scholarship. Party Politics is a peer-reviewed journal dedicated to the study of this integral component within political science.

This major international journal provides a forum for the analysis of political parties, including their historical development, structure, policy programmes, ideology, electoral and campaign strategies, and their role within the various national and international political systems of which they are a part.

Latest review

First review round: 7.4 weeks. Overall rating: 2 (moderate). Outcome: Rejected.

Motivation:
One of the reviewers (R1) was very nice and thorough. He suggested that the methods were “novel” and truly “innovative,” and gave good feedback on possible changes, in other words, minor revisions. Another reviewer (R2) wrote what felt like two sentences. I believe it went against the kind of work he/she does, so said that it was not “groundbreaking.” But the editor decided to reject it.
