Aims and Scope
Biology Open (BiO) is an online-only Open Access journal that publishes peer-reviewed original research across all aspects of the biological sciences. We also offer a transfer option for papers rejected from our flagship journals Development, Disease Models & Mechanisms, Journal of Cell Science and Journal of Experimental Biology. By focusing on the timely publication of good-quality sound research, BiO will facilitate dialogue and build a valuable body of work that supports the efforts of the research community. It is published by The Company of Biologists, a not-for-profit publishing organisation dedicated to supporting and inspiring the biological community.
